In December, our Kinder students proudly presented their Winter Show for their families. Through theatre performances and a music ensemble, the children shared the results of weeks of preparation, cooperation, and creative expression.
12月、キンダークラスの子どもたちは、保護者の皆さまをお迎えしてウィンターショーを開催しました。演劇や音楽アンサンブルを通して、これまで積み重ねてきた学びと成長を発表しました。

Each grade prepared a different performance, reflecting their developmental stage and growing confidence.
各学年は、それぞれの発達段階に合わせた内容に取り組み、年齢ごとの成長が感じられるステージとなりました。

K1 students performed “The Tortoise’s Gift,” a story from Zambia. The story follows animals struggling through a long drought, searching for the true name of a magical tree that could save them. While many animals tried and failed, the tortoise continued patiently, step by step, never giving up.
K1は、ザンビアの物語『The Tortoise’s Gift（カメの贈りもの）』を発表しました。干ばつに苦しむ動物たちが、不思議な木の本当の名前を探す中、最後まで諦めず一歩ずつ進むカメの姿が描かれています。

For K1, the play included repeated lines and group roles, with several children sharing the same part on stage. This supported confidence and teamwork, closely connected to their Unit of Inquiry: “Working together helps us grow.”
K1では、同じ役を複数人で演じたり、繰り返しのセリフを取り入れたりすることで、安心して舞台に立てる構成にしました。これは「協力することで成長する」という探究テーマと深く結びついています。

K2 students presented Aladdin, a story about kindness, courage, and making good choices. Through Aladdin’s journey, the children explored themes of friendship, helping others, and believing in themselves.
K2は『アラジン』を発表しました。優しさや勇気、正しい選択の大切さをテーマにした物語で、友情や自分を信じる気持ちについて学びました。

Each child performed an individual role, practising their own lines and movements while supporting one another as a cast. This reflected their Unit of Inquiry: “People in a community help each other plan fun events and celebrate good things.”
一人ひとりが役を担当し、セリフや動きを覚えながら、仲間と支え合って舞台を作り上げました。これは「コミュニティの中で人々は協力し、楽しい行事や喜びを分かち合う」という探究テーマにつながっています。

K3 students performed How to Train Your Dragon, a story about understanding differences, building trust, and supporting one another. Through Hiccup and Toothless’s journey, the children explored empathy, bravery, and teamwork.
K3は『How to Train Your Dragon』を発表しました。違いを理解し、信頼関係を築きながら仲間を支えることの大切さを描いた物語です。

This longer and more advanced play required expressive acting, clear dialogue, and sustained focus. The performance reflected their Unit of Inquiry: “Our actions affect how we connect and support each other in a group.”
より長く高度な構成の中で、感情表現や集中力が求められました。「自分の行動が、集団の中でどのようにつながりや支え合いに影響するか」という探究テーマとも深く結びついています。

The Winter Show was a meaningful celebration of growth, collaboration, and creativity. We are very proud of all our Kinder students for their hard work and courage on stage.
ウィンターショーは、成長・協力・創造性が詰まった特別な時間となりました。舞台に立ったすべてのキンダーの子どもたちを、心から誇りに思います。
