October has become a tradition of Magic School lessons for our Kinder Class.
This year it was the third time that we enjoyed studying magic spells, making magic potions, mixing elements of alchemy and discussing different kinds of magical creatures.

Just like every year, the students got sorted to four magic houses:
Riddlemere: the Sphinx house, for knowledge-thirsty and hard-working kids
Coralin: the Mermaid house, for playful, funny and outgoing kids
Whitewood: the Unicorn house, for kind hearted and helpful kids
Dragonhide: the Dragon House, for strong and brave kids.

Of course, all of our children have all of the aforementioned traits;
they are smart, fun, kind and strong!
However, putting them into mixed-age groups like these is a great tool to teach them team work, caring for younger friends and healthy competition.

Right after being sorted to their houses, the children visited our Magic Wand Shop and chose a wand that would become their partner in the upcoming magical adventures.

There were four kinds of wands to choose:
White– great for healing magic
Brown– great for nature spells
Dark Brown– great for fixing problems
Black– great for fighting bad creatures.

During this Magical Semester, we got to study about and discuss various magical creatures; merfolk, fairies and pixies, unicorns, phoenixes, dragons, sphinxes, elves, dwarves and many more!

Each Study of Magical Creatures lesson was based on certain habitats; forests, mountains, oceans, cities, deserts and countries around the world. We learnt about fantastic beings from Japan, Korea, China, America, Poland and India!

Each Study of Magical Creatures lesson also ended with a mission during which we had to learn and use a magic spell. We fought with a kraken, decoded hieroglyphics to solve Sphinx riddles, calmed down an angry ghost, casted a truth-telling spell on a cunning doppelganger who turned into Chikako, put a dragon to sleep, cooled down a burning hot feather of a phoenix, healed poisoned-by-a-bad-potion Ania and communicated with a Computer Wizard through magic!

We even fought with Bad Wizard, who was the reason of all the mysterious happenings in Feinshun! He was very strong and very naughty and he even drank a face-changing potion to look like Shingo, but we found out about his trick and defeated him! He might be strong but we are stronger because we have the power of friendship!

We made glowing fairy jars to attract fairies to our school! We made mermaid water candy and magic crystals! We also prepared many various potions, the most popular one being a protection potion for a baby unicorn.

We studied ancient Viking Runes: a secret alphabet of Wizards. The youngest students learnt to write single runes and, later, their names. The older kids practiced writing and reading names of magical creatures.

This year’s magic school was super fun! We can’t wait for another magical semester next year!
