Recently, our Pumpkin class visited Ikesun Park and discovered a special community art project called the Amimono Tree. Although the project had already been completed and the children were too young to participate in the knitting themselves, they were captivated by the colourful display and enjoyed exploring the park.

最近、パンプキンクラスはイケサンパークを訪れ、地域のアートプロジェクト「あみものツリー」を見つけました。制作はすでに完成しており、子どもたちは編み物に参加できる年齢ではありませんでしたが、カラフルな装飾に夢中になり、公園を探索して楽しみました。

The children ran freely around the park, pointing out the different colours and patterns, and showing curiosity about the tree covered in knitted pieces. They observed, touched, and talked about what they saw, engaging their senses and naturally building vocabulary through real-world experiences.

子どもたちは公園を元気いっぱいに走り回り、さまざまな色や模様を指さしながら、編み物で飾られた木に興味を示していました。見たり触れたり話したりする中で、実体験を通した学びや語彙力の広がりが自然に生まれていました。

Visits like this help our youngest learners develop an awareness of their surroundings and the community around them. Seeing public art in a familiar outdoor space encourages observation, curiosity, and an early appreciation for creativity and collaboration.

このような訪問は、幼い子どもたちが自分の周りの環境や地域社会に気づく大切な機会となります。身近な公園でアートに触れることで、観察力や好奇心が育ち、創造性や協力することへの第一歩につながっていきます。

Experiences like this lay a foundation for future learning in the Kinder years, where children will explore communities, expression, and shared spaces more deeply through inquiry. For our Pumpkins, this visit was a joyful step toward understanding the world around them—one colourful discovery at a time.
