It’s summer time again! For the start, the Pumpkin class learned new vocabulary such as “pool, ice cream, watermelon, fireworks, fan” etc, which got them in the mood for the sunshine season! They sang and danced to their favorite “Baby Shark” song during music and movement, in which they acted as little sharks swimming around in the ocean.
For a craft, the kids made themselves yummy ice cream! They painted and stuck their choice of toppings on their colorful ice cream. As it was Hanabi time in Japan, the kids also made fireworks with straws and vegetable prints on black colored paper, which look like sparklers under the night skies!
Off to the park they went! They had fun playing outdoors with the sun, sand, slides and swings! They also enjoyed indoors play and learned how to share the toys with one another!
We also had pool time, where the kids got to play in the water. The kids had fun fishing, swimming and splashing this summer!
After their one-month summer vacation, the kids came back refreshed and ready to learn! In August, they were introduced to the various sea animals, new shapes, phonics of J, K, and L and numbers 1 to 7.
They then learned how to make an octopus by cutting, pasting and drawing its mouth for a craft! The kids enjoyed making the animal crafts and we will be doing more of these in September too!
