Pumpkin News~Pre class~

Kinder Class in September (Ania)
2016年10月03日(月)04時35分

In August and September our main study topic was Space.
We became space travelers and used our special portal door to teleport to different places in space to create our own “Kids Guide to the Galaxy!”
It was very exciting!

How to become an excellent space traveler, you ask?
Put your hand up and shout: “We need a ride!!”

If you have no space portal door, as we do: don’t worry!
I’m sure that there will be some friendly aliens that will be nice enough to pick you up :-).

Of course before travelling to each planet, we had to know the ground we will stand on and had a discussion with the teachers, what more or less we should expect.

On each of the planets there was a special message written for us by the aliens to put into our guide.

Mercury was very hot and rocky.
There were so many craters we had to jump through them to reach a safe space!
The message from aliens, which became the first rule of our Guide to the Galaxy said: “You are not alone.”

Venus was even hotter; the hottest of all the planets!
There were so many volcanoes and we really had to be careful not to touch the burning hot lava! We also did an experiment to create our own artificial volcano!
The rule number 2 we found there said “Beautiful things can be dangerous”.
Just like Venus!

Mars was quite nice and friendly to visit.
There was a lot of red sand and rocks; some of them looked exactly like crabs!
There was also a formation of rocks that looked exactly like a human face, but of course, it wasn’t!
The rule told us; “Not everything is what it seems to be”.

Jupiter was extremely stormy!
As it is made of gas, we had to walk on a special bridge built for us by the aliens and dodge the lightning hitting the place all the time! We also had to be extremely cautious because of Jupiter’s Great Red Spot.
Always check the weather forecast” said the rule on Jupiter. We really should have done it…

Saturn was very beautiful!
It had gorgeous rings made of dust, chunks of ice and rocks. We used the last ones as a space for walking, or rather jumping. We found some tiny pieces of beautiful stone which turned out to be pieces of an ancient moon destroyed long, long time ago! What a discovery!
The rule on Saturn told us: “Nothing lasts forever.

Uranus was amazingly cold!
We had to put on blankets to warm ourselves up and walked on a very thin rope to a safe area.
We saw some shiny beautiful crystals down, close to the core but we decided to stay smart and leave them alone, as trying to reach them would be too dangerous.
Sometimes it’s not worth the risk”- the rule told us.

Neptune was the last planet we visited.
It was almost as cold as Uranus and unbelievably windy!
The friendly aliens turned our backpacks into a rocket bags that allowed us to fly around the planet. We really had to watch out for an extremely dangerous storm cloud; Scooter flying around!
As Neptune was discovered by a mathematician by counting, the Galaxy rule found on Neptune told us: “Study to discover.”

Being brave space travelers, we also some real space food designed for astronauts; Cookie Cream sandwich, Vanilla ice cream and Strawberry ice cream!
Vanilla was the most popular :-).

We also had a cooking class and made Moon Viewing Dumplings! They were so yummy!

Studying about space is so fun!

But, the new month has come and the Sports Day is right around the corner!!
Right after the Sports Day we are going to begin our new theme, which is probably the most exciting one in the whole school year.
And in the meanwhile, see you later, Space Travellers!
